Clay Drawings (2020)

This series is done with local french clay of 3 different kinds. The black is Argile Faience Noir, the other two are Grés, a Grogged “Lila” one and a Terracota one that raw is yellowish. They are made by imprinting vegetal and mineral finds from the area into the clay as other stamps I draw directly in the clay inspired by basic forms from the beginning of decoration in pottery, the first expression of material culture in human history. The paper is an Arches 350 gr paper 76x58 cm. Each work is unique as the stamp will end up being destroyed and deformed by the imprinting process at the end of the work.
